The Euro-Sino Enterprises Association hosted a news conference on Friday to brief a Switzerland-themed event it will organize at the 2017 Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services.

Topics discussed at the event will include win-win cooperation within internationally innovative thinking and what Chinese companies can learn from Swiss craftsmen's spirit and innovation capabilities, said Zhang Xinyi, the association's chief representative of China.

She said participants will also have opportunities to consult Swiss experts at the event.

The association said it thanks the organizing committee of the 2017 Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services for giving it a chance to showcase communication and cooperation between Switzerland and China on aspects ranging from commerce and trade and financial services to tourism.

The fair, to be held from May 28 to June 1 in the China National Convention Center in Beijing, will focus on services of science and technology, internet and information, culture and education, finance, business and tourism.

Zhang said during Friday's activity that her association is promoting Sino-Swiss people-to-people exchanges and project cooperation.

Due to the organization's efforts, combined with those of a small and medium-sized enterprise association in Switzerland and the Guizhou provincial government, an agreement for building an industrial demonstration park in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou, was signed on March 14. The park plans to attract several Swiss companies and focus on sectors such as advanced precision manufacturing, big-data electronic information, biological pharmaceuticals and finance.

A Swiss-Beijing innovative industrial park will also be built, Zhang said, adding she hopes the park in Beijing will help to bring Switzerland's cutting-edge technologies to the city for better development of Chinese companies.

Zhang's association promoted a national-level commercial project, the Swiss China Center Zurich, in Switzerland as well. The center hosted its launch ceremony in December 2016, and hopes to promote seven Chinese industries including tea, traditional Chinese medicine, e-commerce, cultural communication and finance.

Zhang and her association will suggest more Chinese cities found their representative and contact offices in the center, which is significant for strengthening China's brand image and international influence, Zhang said.
