Sichuan snap Xinjiang's three-game CBA winning streak
CHENGDU - Hamed Haddadi scored a team-high 26 points to lead five players scoring double digits as Sichuan reversed defending champions Xinjiang 105-96 in the 25th round action of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Sunday.
From 19-23 down, Sichuan played well in the second quarter to avoid getting behind further. With the support from Ike Diogu, Sichuan's Hamed Haddadi turned the table 64-63 in the middle of the third quarter and enlarged the gap to eight points then.
Both Sichuan and Xinjiang played aggressively in the last quarter, but Sichuan's three-pointers helped the home team seal the victory.
Ike Diogu and Meng Da both contributed 19 points for Sichuan. Darius Adams made a game-high 42 points and Li Gen also had 14 points for Xinjiang, but they were still unable to stop the team from losing.
"We were much more positive in attack and defense," said Yang Xuezeng, head coach of Sichuan.
Xinjiang's head coach Li Qiuping said the team played a one-man game and was lack of patience.
