A national cross-country snowmobile challenge kicked off in Hailaar (Hailar), Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Dec 22, attracting scores of racers to compete in the high-latitude snowfields. 

Hailaar has worked hard to promote local tourism through organizing sports events, and the district emphasizes the involvement of tourists in building its winter tourism brand across the country.
