Shanghai's Zhangjiang High Tech Park recently started the selection of outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial talents.

Both Chinese and foreign individuals or teams that work at local administration, companies, public institutions, and social organizations and achieve excellence in knowledge innovation, technological innovation, transfer innovation, industrial model innovation, reform innovation, service innovation, and innovative and entrepreneurial environment creation are welcomed to apply.

Knowledge innovation refers to those making great breakthroughs in basic research and giving intellectual support to technological progress and application innovation.

Technological innovation refers to technologies urgently required in economic, social and industrial development.

Transfer innovation refers to those making great contributions to the transfer of technological achievements into production capacity, industrial upgrading industries, and economic transformation, from which they can gain large profits.

Industrial model innovation refers to those developing new economic growth points and creating great value for the society and enterprises.

Reform innovation refers to innovative and effective moves in encouraging creation and startups, improving management and services of industrial parks, and operating innovative resources.

Service innovation refers to those building new innovation and entrepreneurship service platforms, promoting intermediary services, improving investment and financing mechanisms, creating a good cultural environment, organizing abundant related activities, and others.

Innovative and entrepreneurial environment creation refers to those playing significant roles in Zhangjiang's brand building and promotion and those that are widely acclaimed by the public media.

Those who want to apply can recommend themselves or be recommended by their work units.

Applicants are required to download an application form at Zhangjiang's official website (www.zjsfq.gov.cn/) and provide about 2,000 words written material covering major achievements and contributions, evidentiary materials, and another 300 words to briefly introduce the applicants and things they have done.

The deadline of the application is Feb 15. After which, after strict evaluation, the top 10 will be selected from the applicants and given awards.

Zhangjiang High Tech Park administrative committee will give stronger financial support and better services to encourage the talents to contribute more to Shanghai's construction of a global scientific and technological innovation center.
