KIEV - The Ukrainian State Finance Institution for Innovations (SFII) and Ukrainian association of Belt and Road cooperation "Silk Link" held a forum on Tuesday to deepen public-private partnership (PPP) with Chinese businesses.

The one-day forum themed "Public-private partnership in investment projects" brought together more than 50 representatives of the Ukrainian state institutions and the Chinese companies.

Volodymyr Stavnyuk, chairman of the SFII, said the Ukrainian government is interested in developing cooperation with Chinese businesses in various areas.

"We have priorities in almost all industries. First of all, it's infrastructure, energy, and the construction of houses, offices, and ports. Our contacts with the Chinese side have great prospects and opportunities," Stavnyuk told Xinhua.

The PPP between Ukraine and China is win-win for both parties, Stavnyuk said, explaining that Ukraine is interested in attracting Chinese investment and technologies and stands ready to offer favorable investment environment and an access to the European markets in return.

Sergiy Kuksa, head of the project office at the "Silk Link", said the forum was organized to boost mutual trust and facilitate dialogue between the Ukrainian government and the Chinese business people.

"The purpose of this event is to show Chinese companies the tools possessed by the state for supporting investments in the Ukrainian economy and innovative projects," Kuksa told Xinhua.

The initiative to hold the forum has received a positive evaluation from the Chinese business community working in Ukraine.

Azizullo Abdulhaev, a representative of Xinjiang Communications Construction Group Co. Ltd., the private Chinese firm which implements two projects on road modernization in Ukraine, said his company participated in the forum to learn more about doing business in the East European country.

"For all Chinese companies, including us, the public-private partnership in investment projects is very interesting. We would like to get acquainted with the policy, which is being conducted in this direction, and with the plans for the future," Abdulhaev told Xinhua.
