Youth sports group to set standard systems
The China Sports School Federation (CSSF) set up its Youth Sports Club Branch and Sports Standards Certification Committee in Beijing on Sept 21.
This is the first comprehensive social club organization for youth sports clubs established under the guidance of the State General Administration of Sports.
According to Wei Di, director-general of the CSSF, China's youth sports clubs have sprung up, but there were no state-level social organizations that could provide professional and accurate services for them.
"The Youth Sports Club Branch will take the responsibility," said Wei, adding that the Sports Standards Certification Committee will promote the development of the industry with standards, maintain order of the industry, and gradually form a safe, healthy and professional youth sports service system.
The branch will undertake the establishment of standard systems on courses, teachers, venues, and competitions for more than 8,000 private non-enterprise sports clubs and more than 100,000 market-oriented clubs around China.
Thus, building the nation's largest club service platform will help the majority of youth sports training institutions find their development direction and mode through training, competitions, exhibitions, and exchanges.
The committee, guided by consistent construction, will sort out and formulate various types of youth sports standards at all levels and promote the development and construction of youth sports service systems in a standardized way.
By creating a safe, standardized, healthy and professional youth sports service system, it aims to homogenize the market, classify and evaluate service organizations, and provide evidence for the selection of youth sports services for government, society, and youth.
Zhang Tao, deputy director-general of the CSSF and chief executive officer of Vango Sports, was elected chairman of the CSSF Youth Sports Club Branch and director of Sports Standards Certification Committee. Chen Lu, a world champion in figure skating, was elected vice-chairwoman of the CSSF Youth Sports Club Branch.
