Female prisoners participate in beauty pageant
Inmates at Talavera Bruce competed in the prison's 13th annual beauty pageant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Tuesday. For the prisoners, the annual contest is a time to enjoy dressing up, temporarily forget life behind bars and meet family, who are allowed visit for the show.
Veronica Verone, 25, was crowned Miss Talavera Bruce 2018. Organizers say the pageant is held to help the prisoners with their self-esteem and to promote integration.
