Heading back along the valley towards Tsedang, I visited the small Trandruk Monastery, dating back to the seventh century. It was one of 12 temples laid in concentric circles around Lhasa’s Jokhang Temple. While I was there, considerable restoration of older wall paintings was underway by a team of artisans.
