New China's remarkable achievements over the past 70 years, especially since the launch of reform and opening-up, can be attributed to the leadership of the Communist Party of China. National unity, prosperity and strength could be achieved only under the Party's leadership.

Under the CPC's leadership, New China abrogated all the unequal treaties imposed on the Chinese people and safeguarded territorial integrity, sovereignty and national dignity.

China has made great achievements on the strategic front, too. Under the Party's leadership, it has developed its national defense to safeguard the country's unity and national interests.

The Party's leadership has also facilitated the work to consolidate the bonds among different ethnic groups of the country, which in turn has strengthened national unity.

Hong Kong and Macao have been reunified with the motherland, and it's inevitable that the two sides of the Straits will be marching in the direction of reunification.

China's appropriate response to epidemics such as outbreaks of diseases and natural disasters, which helped maintain social stability, too, can be attributed to the Party's leadership.

The Party's leadership has also helped the Chinese people emerge from poverty to become the second-largest economy in the world. Based on the great achievements the country has made in the past four decades, the Party has been advancing to build a moderately prosperous society first, and then a modern socialist country.

China has established and improved socialist market economy, and liberated and developed productive forces thanks to the Party's leadership of economic construction. Also, the Party's leadership of cultural construction has helped China develop advanced socialist culture.

China's nine-year compulsory education mission has fulfilled its main goal, and the country has built a harmonious socialist society under the Party's leadership.

China's GDP increased from 367.9 billion yuan in 1978 to more than 90 trillion yuan (about $13 trillion) in 2018, with Chinese people's dispensable income increasing from 171 yuan in 1978 to 28,228 yuan in 2018. Also, the country has stepped into a new era of socialist ecological civilization under the Party's leadership. In fact, from the Party's 18th National Congress in 2012 to the 19th Party Congress in 2017, China launched many concrete measures to promote ecological civilization.

The Chinese Dream is all about the great rejuvenation of the nation. To achieve that dream, the Chinese people have to be prosperous and strong, and promote the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the great project of the Party's construction.

In the new era, we should strengthen the Party's political leadership to provide political guarantee for achieving the Chinese Dream. The Party's ideological leadership should be strengthened to deepen people's confidence in socialism with Chinese characteristics and provide scientific theoretical guidance to achieve the Chinese Dream. The Party's leadership over mass work should be bolstered to safeguard people's interests and provide a solid base for achieving the Chinese Dream. And the Party's leadership over reform and opening-up should be strengthened to promote the development of various socialist causes.

There is also a need to strengthen the Party's political leadership to safeguard the country's sovereignty, security and development interests, and build a solid social base for achieving the Chinese Dream. And the Party's leadership over security work should be strengthened to prevent and overcome major risks, achieve the poverty alleviation target, and control and prevent pollution, so as to provide the security guarantee for achieving the Chinese Dream.

Only under the Party's leadership can China become a prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally rich, harmonious, unified and beautiful socialist power.
