Jason Ferguson talks Snooker World Cup 2019
The 2019 Snooker World Cup opened on June 24 and will run until June 30 in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province.
Twenty-four teams consisting of two players each participated in the tournament. The total prize money this year is $800,000.
As the host nation, China is represented by two teams - China's A team consisting of Ding Junhui and Yan Bingtao, and China's B team consisting of Liang Wenbo and Zhou Yuelong. All four athletes have won previously. Other famous participants include Mark Williams, John Higgins, Mark Allen and Kyren Wilson.
Jason Ferguson, chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, spoke with China Daily about why Wuxi was chosen to host the event for the third year in a row, and why it will continue to do so for the next 10 years.
