Over 12,000 take part in Chongqing International Women's Half Marathon
Chongqing International Women's Half Marathon 2019 kicked off on November 10 on Nanbin Road, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
The event attracted about 12,000 participants - 3,500 for half marathon, 2,500 for 10km run, 3,000 for mini run, and 1,500 groups for family run.
Eight outstanding women, including pilots, key opinion leaders, entrepreneurs and models, were invited as special partners.
Badminton world champion Zhang Yawen, born in Chongqing, is the first champion partner of Chongqing International Women's Half Marathon to lead the race.
"I hope I can encourage more girls to run in the beautiful city of Chongqing", she said.
This year marked the fifth year of Chongqing International Women's Half Marathon. "Give Me 5 and Endless Beauty" was the slogan of the race.
Rkia EI Moukim from Morocco, Darya Mykhaylva from Ukraine and Jelagat Lilian from Kenya won the top three spots of the half marathon race.
