Yuan firms up against top currencies

The yuan strengthened against a basket of currencies last week, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System. The CFETS yuan exchange rate composite index, which measures the yuan's strength relative to a basket of currencies, came in at 94.46 on Sept 25, up 0.34 points from a week earlier.

Trip gets third-party payment license

Trip.com has been granted a third-party payment license by the central bank, the online travel agency said. The third-party payment license will be obtained through a 100 percent acquisition of Shanghai Oriental Information Technology Services Co Ltd.
