Kala village in Danzhai county is famous for its elegant bamboo cages made by the local Miao people, who use it to raise babblers.
"Tourists like to visit our village to buy bird cages and enjoy a getaway in our homestays. Local villagers are able to support their families via traditional skills, and don't have to leave their hometown to be a migrant worker in big cities," said Wang Qiu, 32, who learned her skill from her father-in-law, when she attended the exhibition.
