China's first man-and-dog obstacle race will be held in Beijing in June, with the registration process beginning on Monday.

Unlike other competitions, Go! Buddy obstacle race will be a challenge for both humans and animals as they will be racing as teammates instead of being owners and pets.

The route will be three kilometers long with 10 obstacles for one man and one dog. The competitors will carry sandbags and surpass mud and other obstacles. Each of the dogs will get a race bandana and leash while their owners will wear a race headband and T-shirt.

The dog racers will be in three groups divided by height and weight: no more than 40 cm and no more than 10 kg, 40-60 cm and 10-30 kg, over 60 cm and 31-40 kg.

The race will be held in Reignwood Pine Valley, a leisure resort near the Badaling Great Wall in the northwest suburb area of Beijing.
