Premier Li Keqiang held a phone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 20.
The China-Pakistan friendship enjoys a time-honored history, Premier Li said, adding that the upcoming May 21 will mark the 70th anniversary of establishment of the bilateral ties.
Premier Li extended his hope that both sides should maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communication, deepen mutually-beneficial and win-win cooperation, to maintain and develop the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
They also exchanged opinions on global cooperation in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Noting that the pandemic is still spreading across the world, Premier Li said the international community needs to deal with the challenge through joint efforts and cooperation. He added that China is willing to provide the best possible support to Pakistan to fight the pandemic.
Imran Khan said Pakistan looks forward to enhancing the two countries’ high-level exchanges and strategic cooperation, and deeper anti-pandemic cooperation under current situations.
Pakistan is willing to work together with China for more accomplishments in the bilateral ties, he said.
State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and He Lifeng, head of the National Development and Reform Commission, also attended.
