A farmer who leads a vegetable cooperative in a village in Heze, Shandong province, donated 50 tons of Chinese cabbage to residents in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, in hopes of adding a dish of fresh vegetables for people required to stay home amid the pandemic.
The first shipment of 20 tons of cabbage arrived in the city on Sunday, said Wang Chunfeng, the donor, who is preparing another shipment with her fellow residents.
Wang founded the Yongsheng fruit and vegetable planting cooperative in April in Yanzhuang village of Wenshangji town in Chengwu county, mainly to grow Chinese cabbage and green radishes.
She will donate 50 tons of cabbage to Xi'an, around half of the total produced from her cooperative this year.
