On behalf of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, I would like to express my congratulations to the official English language publication of the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.

Helping people with disabilities is the best showcase of human civilization, and the Paralympics are a mark of progress for the human race. Since we won the bid, with the help of all parties, we prepared the Olympics and the Paralympics at the same time. And with the comprehensive cooperation of the International Paralympic Committee, we have finished all the preparation work. Now, we will present the world a "streamlined, safe and splendid" Paralympics.

Paralympic sports ignite hope and a fighting spirit, helping athletes achieve their dreams. The Paralympics are a wonderful platform for people with disabilities to engage more strongly with society and fulfill their dreams. Via this platform, countless Para athletes have surpassed themselves, fought hard, pushed their limits and showed great spirit. What they have shown is the Paralympic spirit, which inspires not only people with disabilities but also everyone to embrace the future without fear.

The Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games will become a bridge to connect athletes from across the globe, a platform to showcase themselves and a channel to communicate. Over 600 para athletes will participate at Beijing 2022-the most in the history of the Games.

We are providing barrier-free facilities of the highest standard at the three competition zones, while about 9,000 volunteers will ensure that the Games are athlete-centered and embody the idea of inclusiveness. The Games will showcase the great performances of the athletes, as well as their determination, equality, inspiration and courage.

I hope the official publication of the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games can spread the Paralympic spirit. With the greatest passion, I hope the publication can convey the stories of the Games in an authoritative, accurate and timely manner, and promote the motto "Together for a Shared Future".The newsletter should show the positive mentality of the para athletes and the achievements of Chinese para sports.

The Paralympics will be just as spectacular as the Olympics. I believe, just like the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the Paralympic Winter Games will become a great event in the history of world sports, promoting peace and friendship.
