The historic monuments of Dengfeng in "The Centre of Heaven and Earth" are located in and around the Songshan Mountain in Henan province.
They comprise 11 historic sites at eight places, such as the Zhougong Sundial Platform and the Dengfeng Observatory, Shaolin Temple, Huishan Temple, Songyang Academy (one of the oldest academies in ancient China), Zhongyue Temple and three pairs of towers (Taishi, Shaoshi, and Qimu), and Pagoda of Songyue Temple.
These buildings have outlasted several dynasties, inheriting the significance of "The Centre of Heaven and Earth" and reflecting the continuation of Chinese culture, which played a vital role in Chinese and even global civilization.
