Creativity has become a major trend in small household appliances, with a focus on design, function, healthcare and innovative features, according to an industrial report.

The report was jointly released recently by Bear Electric Appliance Co Ltd and 36Kr, a Chinese technology media platform, after a survey covering 12,000 young consumers.

"Creativity, as core competitiveness, will help create sustainable business growth in the future for us," said Li Yifeng, founder and chairman of Bear Electric Appliance, a small household appliance manufacturer based in Foshan of Guangdong province.

The Shenzhen-listed company, which was established in 2006 in Foshan's Shunde district, also recently unveiled its business strategy – to develop small household appliances favored by young people – by focusing on products with innovative design and diversified smart function.

According to the report, more than 80 percent of young consumers in the survey have bought small household appliances such as cooking pots, air fryers, coffee machines, dishwashers and electric heaters.

The survey indicates most young people have more than five kinds of kitchen appliances, of which the three most commonly used products are health pots, electric ovens and high-speed blenders.

To facilitate its future business expansion, Bear Electric Appliance also started construction on its second phase of smart manufacturing base in Shunde, traditionally known as a major center for household appliances.
