US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's recent visit to Taiwan has violated the one-China principle and challenged China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Senior fellow at the American University in Moscow Martin Sieff said her visit reduced the credibility of not only herself but also the US.

Sieff pointed out that the visit was irresponsible, and it is worrying that the Biden administration did not prevent it. But the visit only ends in humiliation.

Sieff said the US political situation has changed drastically since Donald Trump's presidency. Ironically, an otherwise politically divided US has forged a bipartisan agreement to not treat China in a fair manner.
