Beijing is hosting the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services from Wednesday to Monday.

Cultural creative products originating from China's intangible cultural heritage are expected to be a highlight of the fair. Many cultural enterprises with distinctive products are taking part in the event.

Many inheritors of intangible cultural heritage will also be present. The audience can not only interact and communicate with them to better understand the history of the cultural heritage, but also experience and learn the craftsmanship of some intangible cultural heritage.

The key to the lasting vitality of China's intangible cultural heritage lies in whether it can be seen and accepted by more people. This requires intangible cultural heritage to be put in close contact with the public, so that it can show its unique character. And the fair provides such a platform for that to happen.

Intangible cultural heritage has become a new growth point in China's cultural and tourism sectors and a key trend in its international trade in services.

That is thanks to China's abundant intangible cultural heritage resources. At present, 42 Chinese intangible cultural heritage items have been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, the most in the world, and countless intangible cultural heritages of various levels are listed at home and are under State protection.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the whole society, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Law has come into effect in recent years, and a system of policies and regulations on intangible cultural heritage protection has been continuously improved. Intangible cultural heritage can be seen at all of China's major international trade fairs.

Intangible cultural heritage has entered almost every corner of the daily lives of the Chinese people, ranging from scenic spots and neighborhoods to campuses and e-commerce. It is fair to say that the protection and inheritance of the nation's intangible cultural heritage has achieved fruitful results.

In the fair this year, the intangible cultural heritage will further release its "soft power" with the involvement of cultural creative industries and science and technology.

That not only provides more channels and a bigger platform for the protection and inheritance of the country's intangible cultural heritage, but will also inject a new gene into it.
