The People's Insurance Co (Group) of China Ltd, one of the country's leading insurers, will further strengthen its services for customers through all types of innovation, according to the company's top management.

PICC Group will strive to be more innovated in terms of data use, product development and services management, said Wang Tingke, president of PICC Group, adding all these efforts are aimed to make the company a more customer-centered one.

According to the insurer's interim report, the company's premium income reached 382.6 billion yuan ($55 billion) in the first half year, up 11.2 percent year-on-year. Its net profit attributable to parent company hit 17.9 billion, up 5.7 percent.

The steady growth, according to Wang, is contributed to the company's efforts in optimizing business structure and nurturing new growth drivers. The company has also improved its products portfolio based on the customers' new demands.
