Music knows no borders, Peng said. Even though the two nations share different languages, music can serve as a bond between the hearts of the two peoples, she said, adding she feels China and Thailand are as close as one family from the performances.
Peng presented to the institute gifts including a guzheng, or Chinese zither, as well as books, audio and video works on Chinese culture and music, in hopes more Thai young people can learn Chinese musical instruments and promote bilateral cultural exchanges.
