China concludes 2023 Asian Athletics Championships with two more golds
BANGKOK -- China's track and field team concluded the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships here on Sunday with two more gold medals from women's events.
Yang Liujing took gold in the women's 20km race walk in a time of 1:32:38, while teammate Wang Kaihua took silver in the men's 20km event in 1:25:30.
In the women's shot put final, Song Jiayuan stormed to a dominant victory with a best throw of 18.88 meters.
Huang Bokai cleared 5.51 meters to take a bronze medal in the men's pole vault final.
In the women's 200m final, Li Yuting added another bronze medal for China in a time of 23.25 seconds, while Asian record holder Xie Zhenye narrowly missed the podium by finishing fourth in 20.66 seconds in the men's 200m final.
China finished second in the medal table after Japan with a total of eight gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals.
