All fun and games for Shanghai residents in build up to Fitness Day

To meet the growing sports needs of the public and commemorate the successful hosting of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, since 2009, August 8 has been recognized as National Fitness Day.
Officials announced that nearly 800 public sports facilities in Shanghai will be open to people for free on August 8. About 50 sports promotion events and over 260 national fitness events will take place during the week starting from August 5.
