A dozen international literature academies have jointly launched an International Literary Academy Alliance in Beijing on Wednesday, to better cultivate literary talents and promote mutual learning across the world.

"Literature is an important link for human soul communication and emotional exchange. Excellent literary works have a magical power that transcends national boundaries and races," they said in a joint statement released during the Second Beijing International Literature Academy Dean Forum on Wednesday.

"Strengthening international exchanges of literature can silently promote mutual understanding between people of all countries, promote the integration of Eastern and Western cultures, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind," the statement said.

Chen Ning, executive vice-president of the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, said that the new developments in world literature inevitably pose new demands on literary practitioners in various countries. As literary institutions for talent cultivation, literary colleges across the world face common challenges, including how to achieve literary innovation and dissemination in the era of globalization and how to collaborate to promote innovation in literary talent cultivation models.

"We hope to provide a platform for continuous growth for literary cultivation institutions in various countries, and we look forward to everyone achieving fruitful results on this platform," she said.

Li Hongwen, executive director of China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Co Ltd, said that the company has always been committed to building an international exchange platform, and has maintained in-depth cooperation with over 200 sinologists and over 2,000 publishing institutions around the world. The company will continue to give full play to its advantages as a resource channel platform, and promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

Agshin Aliyev, a Sinologist from Azerbaijan, said that although the history of cultural exchanges between China and Azerbaijan is quite long, the understanding of each other's literary works is relatively low. The two countries should strengthen the training of bilingual translators and the promotion of literature works.
