DOHA - Kristof Rasovszky clinched the men's 10km open water swimming title at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships here on Sunday.
Having already secured his Olympic berth with a runner-up finish at the 2023 World Championships, the Hungarian finished in one hour, 48 minutes and 21.20 seconds to mark his second world title, following his triumph in the 5km event in 2019. He also took the 10km silver medal at Tokyo 2020.
"It's an incredible race and has perfect conditions today," the swimmer said, as he is poised to achieve double success in Doha in the men's 5km race scheduled for Wednesday.
France's Marc-Antoine Olivier secured silver, 2.4 seconds behind, while Britain's Hector Pardoe rounded out the podium.
