BEIJING - Chinese companies had registered a total of 2,268 batches of existing Asset-backed Securities (ABS) products worth around 1.92 trillion yuan ($270.29 billion) by the end of 2023, according to the Asset Management Association of China.

Specifically, the value of existing ABS products related to accounts receivable, commercial mortgage-backed securities, financial lease claims, small loans claims, real estate holdings and public real estate investment trusts amounted to about 1.65 trillion yuan -- accounting for 85.61 percent of the total existing value.

The remaining categories of ABS products such as charges related to infrastructure projects, affordable housing, and factoring financing amounted to 276.82 billion yuan, which was 14.39 percent of the total existing value, the association said.
