In the midst of the recently celebrated Chinese New Year, a time when families traditionally come together for joyous reunions, there are those who remain tirelessly dedicated to their work, unable to enjoy the warmth of togetherness.

Addressing this poignant reality, Meng Jing, the mastermind behind Zhejiang TV's popular variety shows, recently orchestrated a heartwarming video titled A Letter Home, drawing attention to those who couldn't make it home.

Since joining Zhejiang TV in 2008, Meng has been at the forefront of crafting and promoting hit variety shows such as Do You Remember, Chinese Dream, Trump Card VS Trump Card and Keep Running. Her extensive experience in the realm of cultural dissemination through entertainment has earned her widespread acclaim.

Meng says that societal emotional needs are ever-changing, and professionals in the industry must keep pace with these dynamics. The key, she asserts, lies in the timely tracking of trends, hitting the right emotional chords, and cleverly addressing the audiences' desires.

Illustrating this approach, Meng led the promotion of the outdoor adventure reality show Keep Running, dedicating an entire season to advocate for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

Through innovative game setups and live broadcasts for public welfare, the show successfully conveyed the ideals of ecological civilization in the new era, garnering praise from viewers.

A public service short film capturing a bird conservation initiative, produced by the show, even received acclaim from the official account of UNESCO on Sina Weibo.

Meng reveals plans for potential collaborations with European countries like Spain and Portugal. These countries have conveyed their interest in inviting Keep Running to shoot in their locales, aiming to deepen cultural exchanges.

Another outdoor reality show promoted by Meng, titled Twenty-four Hours, has been filmed in locations such as Thailand, Singapore and Dubai. The show offers a panoramic view of the local customs, histories and cultures along the way.

Meng's hands-on involvement in every aspect, from pre-production negotiations to on-site filming and comprehensive marketing strategies during the broadcast, showcases her commitment and leadership.

"I hope to integrate the insights I've gained in the media field with current social issues and international situations, introducing outstanding Chinese culture and stories to a wider audience," Meng says, highlighting her aspiration to contribute positively to global cultural exchange.
