Monopoly, the classic economics-themed board game, has recently embarked on a journey of innovation in China through deeper integration with multiple sectors.

Feng Lirong, an educator from Hong Kong, has designed a "campus-version" of Monopoly to make learning more enjoyable.

Feng uses Monopoly tokens to represent students' water bottles, backpacks, shoes, and school buses, while the landmarks on the game board have been replaced with different school rooms.

"I have also replaced the chance cards with cards for extracurricular activities, such as coding competitions and inter-school music festivals," said Feng.

Meanwhile, a Hong Kong gift manufacturer named Matrix Promotion unveiled its "Monopoly Go Green" product for the first time at the Shenzhen International Licensing and Licensed Product Fair held last month.

Liang Wenan, managing director of the company, said "Monopoly Go Green" utilizes not only wooden dice and tokens but also paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Liang noted that the new product is expected to contribute to the world's green growth and sustainable development.

"As the Chinese mainland continues to increase its environmental awareness, we hope the new product will help us better enter the mainland market," said Liang.

Additionally, a series of clothing brands, such as Puma, Staffonly, and Evisu, have drawn inspiration from the Monopoly game and launched innovative products in China.

Based on Monopoly's totems, these brands have created vintage clothing pieces, ranging from jackets to sundresses. Efforts have also been made to invite celebrities to help promote the products.
