China Eastern Airlines launches direct flight between Shanghai and Venice

With some 230 passengers onboard, the direct flight between East China cosmopolitan Shanghai and Venice of Italy officially kicked off its operation on Sept 26, 2024. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Massimo Ambrosetti, Italian Ambassador to China said the direct flight is believed to further benefit people traveling between China and Italy, as well as promote exchanges of culture, technology and economy.

According to Ambrosetti, the Venice airport is named after an Italian merchant and explorer who introduced China to European centuries ago.
