State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power's Marketing Service Center, in collaboration with the China Electric Power Research Institute recently commissioned the first 1,500-ampere integrated dynamic direct current energy meter in China at the demonstration project of DC industrial distribution network in Pingyang, Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. This innovation marks a significant step for China in the field of DC energy metering, which is transitioning from static separate metering to dynamic integrated metering and represents a technological breakthrough in DC current measurement range from 300A to 1,500A.

The energy meter adopts an integrated design architecture, integrating advanced technologies such as high-precision low-temperature-drift manganin shunts and layered circuit design. It can effectively address the issues of severe heating in DC high-current metering and low accuracy in traditional separate metering methods. With a voltage measurement range of up to 1,500 volts and a current measurement range as high as 1,500 A, it achieves an accuracy class of 0.5, making it one of the most versatile and high-performance integrated DC energy meters in China with a wide measurement range.

Furthermore, the energy meter separates the metering core from the functional core and the independently developing waveform analysis function, allowing flexible switching between full-wave metering and fundamental wave metering modes. This allows it to fully meet national and enterprise standards. After testing and verification by the Zhejiang Quality Science Research Institute, all indicators of the energy meter meet the requirements.

The demonstration project of the DC industrial distribution network in Pingyang, Wenzhou, as the first industrial distribution network in Zhejiang province with DC supply to users, has connected a plating load of 1.25 megawatts, fully leveraging the advantage of low power loss in DC supply. This effectively reduces users' electricity costs and equipment acquisition costs, solves the common problem of lack of accurate and reliable measuring instruments in DC stations, and establishes a solid foundation for the precise measurement and widespread application of DC distribution networks.
