China's animated hit Ne Zha 2 has not only mesmerized audiences at home but has also struck a chord with viewers worldwide.

Thomas William Whyke, an assistant professor with an expertise in culture and communication ?at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, shares with China Daily why the movie has resonated with global audience.

"It's able to balance entertainment value with cultural expression, and it's very refined in terms of the animation and the technology," said Whyke.

"The action element is something that transcends language barriers," said Whyke.

Whyke describes the movie as "revolutionary, universal and profound".
