To celebrate the inclusion of the Beijing Central Axis on the World Heritage List, the launch ceremony for the "Cultural Central Axis, Children's Heart Watch" themed activity series took place in Beijing on Friday.

The event, co-hosted by the Chinese National Committee for the International Council on Monuments and Sites and the Chinese Character Culture Promotion Professional Committee of the China Publication & Promotion Association, aims to promote the revitalization and innovative preservation of cultural heritage.

The ceremony started with a performance of Beijing Central Axis by a children's choir. Their pure voices paired with dynamic visuals of the Central Axis symbolized the merging of history and the future.

Song Xinchao, chairman of the Chinese National Committee for the International Council on Monuments and Sites, emphasized that young people are key to cultural inheritance, noting that their involvement brings new vitality to heritage preservation.

Li Yongge, an expert in ancient architecture and heritage conservation, also shared insights into the Central Axis preservation efforts while presenting appointment letters to academic committee members who will provide professional guidance to young creators.

Sun Yan, deputy director of the preparation team for the "Cultural Central Axis, Children's Heart Watch" series of activities, stated that this year's event encourages using artificial intelligence for diverse artistic expression. "In addition to painting, we will integrate multiple art forms to create a cultural carnival," he added.

The exhibition, scheduled for July in Beijing, will feature an immersive stage, where technology will project the Central Axis' architectural outlines. AR (augmented reality) will also offer a virtual tour of the Central Axis, combining tradition with modern technology.
