The WTO chief's full recognition of China's contributions underscores the international community's trust in China's role as a stabilizing force in global economic governance.

As one of the largest and most dynamic trading nations, China has consistently adhered to the core principles of the WTO — which are nondiscrimination, free trade and fair competition. Despite external challenges, including unilateral sanctions and attempts to decouple supply chains, China has actively participated in WTO reforms, supported the restoration of a fully functional dispute settlement mechanism and promoted initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to making global trade more inclusive and development-oriented.
