Set on the eve of the Qing Dynasty's collapse (1644-1911), the series offers a fresh perspective on how Chinese revolutionaries toppled imperial rule and embarked on a grueling journey to rejuvenate the nation.

Directed by Wang Wei, the story follows Liang Xiang, a young aristocrat whose fate intertwines with that of Yang Kaizhi, a fiery revolutionary activist.
