Xi clarifies China's principled position on Taiwan in phone call with Trump
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday clarified China's principled position on the Taiwan question in a telephone call with his US counterpart, Donald Trump.
Xi stressed that Taiwan's return to China is an important part of the post-war international order.
China and the United States once fought side by side against fascism and militarism, Xi noted, adding that at present, they should jointly safeguard the victorious outcomes of World War II.

Xi said that China-US ties have generally remained stable and improved since the meeting in Busan.
Xi said that China and the United States should maintain the momentum in ties and adhere to the right direction.
The two countries should lengthen the list of cooperation and shorten the list of disagreements for more positive progress, he said.
