From Jan 9 to 11, the 7th China International Ballet Season concluded with a spectacular closing gala at Beijing's Tianqiao Theatre.

The grand finale brought together renowned artists from leading ballet companies around the world, who shared the stage with stars of the National Ballet of China. The performance offered a breathtaking blend of classical and contemporary ballet, showcasing diverse styles in an unforgettable ballet feast that marked the perfect end to the nearly three-month-long season.

The China International Ballet Season opened on Oct 24, marking the return of this important biennial international ballet event, which has grown into a vital platform for cultural exchange between China and the world.

The 7th edition featured performances by some of the world's leading ballet troupes. The season opened with a stunning performance of Don Quixote by Spain's Compania Nacional de Danza, making its debut at the event. Seamlessly blending the elegance of classical ballet with the passionate spirit of Spanish dance, the company delivered a refreshing experience for audiences.

As host, the National Ballet of China presented a series of landmark productions. Its new staging of Le Corsaire impressed with grand stage design and vivid character portrayals, highlighting the allure of classical ballet. The classic Eugene Onegin featured a guest performance by Stuttgart Ballet's principal dancer Friedemann Vogel, whose performance drew enthusiastic reactions from the audience. Additionally, The Twelve Zodiac Signs, an original ballet created by the National Ballet of China dance school, brought traditional Chinese culture to life in an engaging and playful manner.

Beyond the stage, the season also offered a wide range of public arts events, including charity performances, open rehearsals, master classes, themed photography exhibitions, and lectures. These activities provided audiences with opportunities to explore the world of ballet from multiple perspectives, making the art form more accessible and immersive.

Since its inception in 2013, the China International Ballet Season has grown into a cultural beacon for international collaboration and cultural exchange. The 7th edition once again demonstrated the event's commitment to artistic excellence and public engagement, further reinforcing its role as a vital platform for global cultural dialogue.
