Spokesman: China remains most stable force amid global turbulence
China remains committed to promoting high-quality development and expanding high-standard opening-up, serving as the most stable, reliable, and constructive force in an increasingly turbulent world, a senior official with the nation's top political advisory body said on Tuesday.
Liu Jieyi, spokesman for the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks at a press conference on Tuesday.
He noted that broadly engaging in foreign exchanges is a key task of the National Committee of the CPPCC.
Over the past year, members of the Chairperson's Council of the National Committee of the CPPCC led delegations to more than 10 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, Liu told the conference.
He added that the CPPCC National Committee also received more than 10 groups of foreign guests and invited over 100 international representatives to participate in its activities.
Through these exchanges, the CPPCC National Committee and its international partners held in-depth discussions on major issues including the evolving global landscape, the pursuit of mutually beneficial cooperation, and the promotion of mutual learning among civilizations, according to Liu.
He added that they also shared experiences in areas such as ecological conservation, poverty alleviation and reduction, and women's development.
The important concepts and initiatives proposed by China have provided intellectual guidance and strong momentum for countries working together to build a better world, Liu said.
Looking ahead, the CPPCC National Committee will continue to strengthen communication and exchanges with international partners, amplify the power of ideas, build broader consensus for cooperation, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, he added.
