Led by an ECO start/stop function, advanced power-train and with a drag coefficient of just 0.29, the GLA requires just 6.4 liters of petrol per 100 km, setting a new benchmark in the compact SUV segment.

For customers who like to tackle rough terrain, the GLA comes equipped with a new generation 4MATIC system designed specifically for the Mercedes-Benz Compact Car family.

This system allows for enhanced energy efficiency, safe handling, and ample traction reserves for a flexible ride.

Complementing this is an off-road comfort suspension that raises the body by 30 mm, a pair of bi-xenon headlamps, and Downhill Speed Regulation, which allows the driver to set a speed between 2 to 18 km/h when driving downhill.

But of course, no Mercedes-Benz would be complete without advanced safety technologies, and the GLA does not disappoint.

Standard appointments include the Attention Assist system that helps drivers realize when they are drowsy and the radar-based Collision Prevention Assist Plus, which helps avoid collisions at speeds of no less than 7.0 km/h and partially deploys the brakes.

Blind Spot Monitoring Passive with a Lane Tracking package and Active Parking Assistance are also available, and provide the driver with additional protection and peace of mind.

With a host of enticing options, it's clear Mercedes-Benz has high hopes for the GLA, which is appealing that Speeks recently bought a GLA 45 AMG during his most recent visit to his native England.
