China's industrial value-added output rose 18.5 percent in the two months to February, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.

The NBS did not release output data each month.

In the two months to February, output of clothing and textiles was up 17.8 percent year-on-year, while chemicals and chemical products rose 21.7 percent and ferrous metals and processing were up 28.5 percent.

Electrical machinery production rose 18.1 percent.

Output of crude oil was 30.44 million tons in the two months, up 2.5 percent year-on-year.

Coal production rose 15.7 percent year-on-year to 316.82 million tons, while electricity generation was 448 billion kilowatt hours (kWh), up 16.6 percent year-on-year.

Production of raw iron, steel and steel products was up 21 percent, 23.1 percent and 25.4 percent, respectively, at 70.07 million tons, 74.25 million tons and 79.01 million tons.

Cement output was 148.71 million tons, up 23.8 percent year-on-year.

Auto production rose 21.5 percent to 1.38 million units. Sedans accounted for 750,000 units, up 29 percent year-on-year.

The sales-to-production ratio was 97 percent, unchanged from the 2006 level.

Export shipments totaled 939 billion yuan in the first two months, up 23.6 percent from a year earlier.
