China Enterprises Index rebounds 1.03%, 03/15(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-03-16 10:34 Hang Seng China Enterprises Index on Hong Kong Stock Exchange went up Thursday with 93.04 points, or 1.03 percent higher, to close the day's trading at 9, 095.52. The H-shares index, initiated in August 1994 and readjusted on March 12, 2007, tracks the overall performance of 41 Chinese mainland State-owned enterprises listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Hang Seng China H-Financials Index moved up 124.44 points, or 1.14 percent, to close at 11,044.65. The H-Financials Index, initiated on November 27, 2006, tracks the performance of eight major banks and insurers of the Chinese mainland. Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index went up 59.88 points, or 1.89 percent, to close at 3,221.00. The index tracks the performance of 31 locally listed companies with a significant equity interest held by entities in the Chinese mainland. Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index went up 41.03 points, or 1.36 percent, to close at 3,049.80. Introduced on October 3, 2001 and readjusted on September 11, 2006, Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index gauges the performance of 103 Hong Kong-listed companies with principal places of business in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.
