ICBC targets investment banking, insurance

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd(ICBC), the
nation's largest, is seeking an investment banking license amid efforts to
expand globally over the next two to three years, Chairman Jiang Jianqing said.
Beijing-based ICBC also plans to expand into the insurance, trust and leasing
businesses, Jiang said in Beijing today, speaking at the company's first annual
shareholder meeting.
