The sales of medium-duty trucks are rising following the popularity of heavy-duty trucks in recent years. 

In some provinces tolls are collected depending on the vehicle's weight and other provinces are expected to follow suit. This will shift some heavy-duty truck buyers to medium-duty ones.

At the same time, buyers are beginning to take more interest in the comfort and appearance of their trucks, which has become the latest challenge of truck manufacturers to meet consumers' demands.

Truck producers likeAnhui Jianghuai Automobile Co Ltd and Beiqi Foton Motor Co Ltd are developing products fit for heavy to light truck market segments.
