 Flowers planted in a green house in Sansheng Flower County, a village-turned agricultural base and tourist hot spot in eastern Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province. The zone, composed of five villages called the “five flowers” welcomed millions of tourists every year. Built in 2002 and still under expansion, the county increased household income of the local peasant-turned works from 2,000 yuan to 7,000 yuan in four years from tourism and flower planting and sales. For 600 yuan per 0.1 mu, ordinary people can claim a piece of land and enjoy their own flower-planting enterprises here. |
