6. "One central task and two basic points" put forward in 1987

From October 25 to November 1, 1987, the 13th National Congress of Communist Party of China was held.

Zhao Ziyang presented a report titled Walking Forward Along the Socialist Road with Chinese Characteristics.

The report described the socialism theory in the primary stage and put forward "one central task and two basic points" as the basic guideline for the party in the primary stage.
