HONG KONG - Hong Kong stocks went down 85.61 points, or 0.37 percent to close at 23,121.70 on Oct 12.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index went to the day high of 23,254.14 soon after opening 46.1 points lower. The gauge then slumped into the negative territory again, with the gap only narrowed a bit before the end of the session.
Turnover totaled HK$83.14 billion ($10.72 billion).
