BEIJING - A survey shows fund products are currently Chinese people's top choice for financial investment.

The survey, released Friday by eastmoney.com, a major financial information provider, showed 68.68 percent of the respondents have invested in fund products, while 66.83 percent have invested in stocks.

Low-risk investments such as bank savings and treasury bonds followed in third place with a percentage of 56.29 percent, while 31.47 percent of respondents had bought insurance products, the report showed.

Short- and medium-term financial investment products provided by banks were the major choice for personal investors. Nearly two-thirds of these products carry a maturity period of 12 months or less.

Meanwhile, 70 percent of respondents said they buy investment products via Internet banking services, the report showed.

The respondents were mainly between the ages of 26 and 55, and come from the nation's economically developed regions, including Guangdong province, Shanghai, Beijing, and the eastern coastal regions.
