Henan man gets 10 years for swindling his dates(China Daily)Updated: 2007-01-19 09:10 A man was recently sentenced to serve 10 years in prison after he had swindled more than 70 single and divorced women in Jiaozuo, Henan. Wang Biao, whose wife had died, swindled about 500,000 yuan ($64,000) while dating the women over a two-year period. One of them, surnamed Lu, lost more than 80,000 yuan ($10,290). Police arrested Wang, a junior middle school graduate, in April. His victims included white-collar workers, entrepreneurs, university teachers and civil servants. Police said none of the victims believed Wang was a con man. (Dahe News ) |
