Lien Chan, honorary chairman of Taiwan's
Nationalist Party or Kuomintang (KMT), offers a toast during a banquet hosted by
Jia Qinglin, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference,
during a banquet hosted by Jia at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing April
27, 2007. About 300 Taiwan and 200 mainland businessmen and representatives
of the KMT and the Communist Party will this weekend attend the Cross-Strait
Economic and Trade Forum -- the third summit between the two parties since 2005.
